Deliverance Curses & Soul Ties

The curse causeless shall not come (Prov. 26:2).

Biblical curses: The Bible imposes curses when people sin. Deuteronomy 28. These curses are there for those who do not obey God’s commandments. Jesus became a curse on the cross so that now those curses can be broken. We need to heed the commandments or the curses can come back.

Witchcraft curses: Curses placed on us by witches, and being involved in witchcraft

Curses Caused by people People can place curses by what they say or express about other people. I call this kind of curses a “spoken curses”. “Charismatic Witchcraft” or “Psychic Prayers”. These are people who pray their will or the prayer does not line up with God’s word. (know the word) God does not hear that prayer but the devil does, and it gives the devil a legal right to send a demon to that person.

Self-imposed curses: If you speak negative about yourself, you are giving the devil permission to send you a demon. These are a few references to curses in the Bible.

Results of curses or a soul ties

Leviticus 26:39-42 And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them. If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;  And that I also have walked contrary unto them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land. The book, Blessings and Curses, by Derek Prince is an excellent reference.

The terms, “soul-tie”, “double-minded”, “scattered soul” and “divided soul” can be used interchangeably

James 1:6-8 " 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7,8 For that person must not suppose that a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways, will receive anything from the Lord."

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Our inability to receive is based on our soul being tied to someone or something else. In other words, we receive from the person or thing with whom we have soul-ties. A soul-tie is the connection of the heart.

Soul-ties are formed many different ways, sexual relations (Matthew 19:5, 6, Genesis 24:67, 1Corinthians 6:16), by speaking words of commitment taking a vow: “I will always love you,” “I will never forget,” “I will always hate you,” becoming soul brothers with someone (1Samuel 18:1), by receiving an item from someone that represents a covenant agreement. Receiving an item from a friend or relative that has great sentimental value but has a curse tied to it is literally death. These kinds of soul-ties are ties to curses and there are also soul-ties to blessings. An example of a godly soul tie is the relationship between David and Jonathan: “And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul” (1 Samuel 18:1)

If you have something you suspect from a person, hold it and speak over it, “I break and renounce all covenants and relationships that were sealed by this item (name the item) that they gave me, and now I reclaim and surrender these parts of my life to Your Lordship, dear Jesus.” Then get rid of the item. The Lord spoke to the heart this matter. He said, “Break it. If it won’t break, burn it, and if it won’t burn, bury it!” Scripture bears this truth out (Deuteronomy 7:4, 5, 25, 26 and Isaiah 2:17-21).

Curse of the heathen

Ephesians 5:6-17; II Kings 21:2; II Chronicles 28:3; 33:2,9; 36:14; Ezra 6:21. "Ye should know that I am the Lord for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgements, but have done after the manners of the heathen that are around about you" (Ezekiel 11:12). This is what I had done. Through Ezekiel 20:9, 14 and Psalm 135:15, God spoke to me concerning the awards I received and the things  which I had made into idols. The idols of the heathen was the work of man's hands.

Curse of Christian Pride The sin of sins (1 Samuel 9-10 -13-16-17…).

"There is no tongue that can express, or heart that can conceive the horrid sins and miseries that pride has ushered in among the children of men." (Brooks)

By Definition Pride is independence - humility is dependence. Pride is an unwillingness to wait for God Pride rushes in. It is acting without a clear mandate from God. It is impatience. Pride knows no rest,

Forms of : Pride of servanthood, pride of intellect, pride of learning, pride of achievement, pride of religion, pride of reputation, pride of ancestry, pride of character, pride of popularity, pride of relationships, pride attachs importance, pride takes men out of the place where God has put them

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

"Theses six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren." ( Prov. 6:16-19).

"Thus says the Lord: 'In this manner I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem . This evil people who refuse to hear My words, who walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be just like this sash which is profitable for nothing'…. Hear and give ear: do not be proud, for the Lord has spoken….But if you will not hear it, my soul will weep in secret for your pride;" (Jer 13: 9,10,15,16)

Christian maturity says, "He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord" (Psalm 112:7). “Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’ Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,” (1 Peter 5:5-6; see James 4:6-10

"The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts." (Psalms 10:4)
"Though the LORD is on high, yet He regards the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar." (Psalm 138:6)
"The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate." (Proverbs 8:13)
"When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom." (Proverbs 11:2)
"By pride comes nothing but strife, but with the well-advised is wisdom." (Proverbs 13:10)
"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." (Proverbs 16:18)
"Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; though they join forces, none will go unpunished." (Proverbs 16:5)
"A man's pride will bring him low, but the humble in spirit will retain honor." (Proverbs 29:23)
